Update
Service updates collectively refer to the following:
- Any program update to the development environment (hereinafter referred to as development environment update).
- Any update to the middleware or services that make up the environment (hereinafter referred to as an “Execution Environment Update”).
Tips
Impact on Applications
In principle, service updates do not affect running applications. The details are described below.
Development Environment Update
Development environment updates are performed periodically, but they are updates to the development environment, such as new features, UI/UX changes, performance improvements and do not affect applications running in the execution environment. The application is deployed and the new program is implemented in the application.
Tips
Execution Environment Update
The execution environment will be updated through planned maintenance. We will inform you of planned updates to the execution environment in advance. Applications will be stopped during maintenance hours. As a general rule, execution environment updates are version upgrades associated with middleware EOLs such as databases and are expected to have no or minimal impact on applications.
How to Update Application
Applications run when runtime programs deployed in the execution environment read repository data created in the development environment. If the service is only updated, the latest runtime program will not be used and will not affect running applications. Deploying (redeploying) the application transfers the repository to the execution environment and links it with the latest runtime program.
